Developing in Boise

Capital
City Development Corporation, as Boise's redevelopment agency,
guides redevelopment efforts within city-approved urban renewal
districts. Activities in each district are guided by urban renewal
plans, also approved by the City Council. Currently there are
three districts downtown: the Central, River Myrtle--Old Boise and Westside Downtown.
CCDC's redevelopment projects typically involve collaborative
partnerships with other public agencies and with private entities.
The development toolkit includes professional master planning;
historic preservation; cultural investments; infrastructure investments
such as parking garages, streetscapes, utilities or transit; financial
access; facility development and others. CCDC frequently works
with the private sector to provide development incentives to achieve
larger urban design goals-for example pedestrian-friendly streets,
public art and more downtown residential options. CCDC's public
investments typically trigger other private investment; in the
original Central District the public-to-private Investment ratio
has been 1:5.
This section shows projects involving agency collaboration, past
and current. It also includes a guide for developing in downtown
Boise. For more information about how CCDC can help with development,
please call 208-384-4264.

CCDC's Downtown Boise 3D Model is now available on Google Earth for viewing, planning and design projects. Go to Google Earth for Boise, Idaho, and click on 3D Buildings. Almost all of the rendered buildings in downtown were taken from the model produced for CCDC by Visual Genesis/Power Engineers.
