Developing in Boise

Capital City Development Corporation, as Boise's redevelopment agency, guides redevelopment efforts within city-approved urban renewal districts. Activities in each district are guided by urban renewal plans, also approved by the City Council. Currently there are three districts downtown: the Central, River Myrtle--Old Boise and Westside Downtown.

CCDC's redevelopment projects typically involve collaborative partnerships with other public agencies and with private entities. The development toolkit includes professional master planning; historic preservation; cultural investments; infrastructure investments such as parking garages, streetscapes, utilities or transit; financial access; facility development and others. CCDC frequently works with the private sector to provide development incentives to achieve larger urban design goals-for example pedestrian-friendly streets, public art and more downtown residential options. CCDC's public investments typically trigger other private investment; in the original Central District the public-to-private Investment ratio has been 1:5.

This section shows projects involving agency collaboration, past and current. It also includes a guide for developing in downtown Boise. For more information about how CCDC can help with development, please call 208-384-4264.
